It is with great pride at White Hills Resort that we announce a new name for the Haulin' Ice Banked Slalom event on March 15th. This event will now be called the Nathan Bailey Memorial Banked Slalom.
Nathan was a true Local Legend, being one of the first people to ever carve the slopes of White Hills on a snowboard. He was part of the original crew of local snowboarders when the hill first opened, and over the years he passed on his knowledge and love of the sport to many others. The entire Bailey family have always been Pillars of the White Hills snowboard and ski community, and we are honored to re-name our banked slalom race in memory of our recently lost friend. Banked slalom races by nature are an opportunity for riders of all ages to gather and have fun together while embracing the soul of the sport. Someone who embodied this spirit as well as any other, was our new namesake, Nathan.
Full Event Details & Race Day Schedule:
•Taking place on March 15th, this event is open to all ages for both snowboarders and skiers of intermediate and higher ability.
•Event registration will take place from 9am to 11am in the day lodge. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER AND COMPLETE THEIR WAIVERS BEFORE 11am!!!
•Helmets are mandatory for all participants, and those under 19 will require a parent signature.
•All participants will meet at the top of the course at 11:30AM.
•Under 16, Men's, and Women's categories for each division (Ski & Snowboard).
•The Haulin' Ice Switch Race will take place for snowboarders only (no categories for switch race).
•$10 entry fee. Extra $5 for switch race participants. CASH ONLY!
•Only 1 inspection/practice run allowed per participant. Course Inspection available from 9:30am to 11am.
•Awards at 4pm, upstairs in the day lodge (may be delayed depending on race completion)
LOTS OF PRIZES, with a total prize pool valued at over $1000!
